Charles Spurgeon was an English Baptist preacher, well-known for his sermons.
Spurgeon, “The Prince of Preachers” was born in Essex in 1834. He was baptized and commenced to serve in a Baptist Church.
When he was 20, he became pastor of the congregation of the New Park Street Chapel in London, the most important Baptiste congregation on the time. He preached there for 38 years.
His type and skill as a preacher made him well-known in a few months. His sermons were printed each week and had a excessive circulation.
By the date of his death, in 1892, he had preached greater than 3000 sermons and had written loads of commentaries, anecdotes, and devotions.
His weekly sermons are still one of the best-selling collection of writings in historical past.
